Chinese New Year 2017

Have you ever found a Chinese New Year card in the store? Maybe you haven't had a reason to look. I would like to find one, but without success. So I make one to send to one special person.

This year it's Year of the Rooster, so with a little water color, some cutting & pasting (literal) this card was ready to send.

Lyons Gallery

Lyons Gallery is the place in Bartlesville to see great art. This month the featured artist is Rod Bailey. He always manages to fill the gallery with paintings that capture the landscape of Oklahoma and beyond.

Today when I went to take these shots, I found the gallery set up for a wedding. The seating arrangement made it a challenge to get the shots I wanted. I'll go back next week when the chairs are gone.

Journal 2017

I am a journaler (is that a real word?). Actually NO. I suppose I should say I'm a journal keeper. And recently I arranged my journals (from 1998-present) in order on a bookshelf so that I can consult them easily. Because one reason I journal is to keep a record of things I don't want to forget.

So in preparation for 2017 I decorated a few journal pages just for the fun of it.

A little ink, some letter stencils, and some stamping techniques, and I'll have some colorful surprises as I make my journal entries.
