The Roman Catholic Church has provided many sacred images. The Saints which are depicted over and over in NM art, and of course Mary, the Christ and the cross. I arrived in Santa Fe a few days before the big, famous, and popular Traditional Spanish Market and the Contemporary Hispanic Market. In both of these outdoor markets sacred images always abound in the form of paintings, santos, bultos, retablos, tinwork and even furniture.
