Zentangles

Do you know Zentangles? I just finished this journal page, and it looks fun. But  I have mixed feelings about this art form: 1. there is  the challenge of the decision on what pattern to use 2. I enjoy the relaxing mode I slip into while I draw each segment 3. but I have the nagging feeling that I am just wasting time.

Fra Angelico

The Resurrection of Christ

Fra Angelico (c.1395-1455) was an Italian Renaissance painter. While serving the Lord he decorated churches with frescos both in Florence & Rome. This work is at San Marco in Florence. 

I was in Florence in 2007 but arrived at the church during afternoon siesta. I was sad that I was unable to see this and other works by an artist that I have admired for many years. 

But I have experienced the resurrection & that's better than seeing a painting.

Color of the Week

Oklahoma City Green 

I'm knitting away in order to be part of a "really big thing". The project: covering the facade of the 108 Contemporary Gallery with a landscape made up of green & blue squares. It will be installed in fall of 2015.
